"we played for matchsticks"
Congratulations on your epic victory, share with us your motivation for playing the 2025 KKPoker March Millions?
"The biggest reason was the value in the tournament series. The prize pools, structures, and overall competition made it very attractive. It's not every day you get the chance to play in such well-structured events with big guarantees, so I wanted to take advantage of that opportunity.
"Since KKPoker introduced a desktop version, I've been playing there more often. I also really enjoy the app's graphical design and user experience, which makes the gameplay more enjoyable."
How long have you been playing poker, and how did you learn the game?
I started playing poker as a kid with my grandfather, mostly Five Card Draw, and we played for matchsticks along with other card games. Later, I picked up Texas Hold 'em with friends, but my real study of the game began when I first saw preflop charts. That was the moment I realized there was much more strategy involved than just playing by instinct.
"I wouldn't call myself a full-time professional, but I take the game very seriously. I study, analyze hands, and try to improve constantly, but I also have other commitments outside of poker. So, I'd say I'm somewhere between a serious recreational player and a semi-pro."
'biggest flip of the tournament'
Describe your epic run in the tournament to becoming champion. What were the toughest decisions you faced?
"I bought in directly for this tournament, even though I usually play a lot of satellites. That day, I actually started my session with this event—it just looked too good in the lobby to pass up.
"Overall, I felt really good during the tournament, though I think I made two mistakes in some marginal spots. Other than that, I had great flow throughout the session and managed to make a few lower-frequency plays, including some preflop folds in spots where I'd usually prefer to fight.
"The biggest flip of the tournament actually happened on the final hand. I limped A5 of hearts from the Small Blind, and my opponent checked with K7 of clubs. The flop came A K 6. My opponent led for 33%, I raised pot, they shoved, and I called. Before the cards were revealed, I just said, "OK, good luck." Fortunately, my hand held, sealing the win.
What advice would you give poker players trying to win a big tournament like the March Millions?
"Disciplined play is the most important thing. Don't force spots just because you feel like you need to be active—patience pays off in the long run. And from experience, I can say that even with 6BB, there's always room to find a bluff."
What's next for your poker journey?
"This year, I'd like to visit Malta and play some higher buy-in tournaments in my region—Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Online, I'll definitely be competing for more trophies on KKPoker. I'll also be taking advantage of the online satellites available on KKPoker to get into bigger events."
